The Splitgate Universe is Expanding with New Project by 1047 Games
Indeed, 1047 Games will be developing a new project that’s reportedly set in the same world as Splitgate. It’s apparently another shooter from the team, though details are incredibly scarce. The current game, Splitgate itself, will remain online while they work on the new title. Players can expect item drops to continue, but there’s more to look forward to.
Come September 15, the game will move out of beta for the next season. It will introduce a free Battle Pass for players to embark on, introducing a variety of fresh skins for characters and weapons. The community will continue to support the game, coupled with the usual check-ins from 1047 Games.
Still, it’s a little surprising to hear that the team is gearing up for their next adventure. Ian Proulx, the creator of Splitgate and CEO of 1047 Games, spoke for the team’s transition by saying:
1047 Games was founded in 2017 after two buddies at Stanford began working on an FPS that utilized portals for the gameplay. Now, they’re an established remote studio that has successfully brought forth a gaming shooter for players to enjoy. PC and console players can still download Splitgate now before the next season begins.
