Lego and Disney have teamed up to offer a classically styled Lego Mickey and Minnie Mouse buildable character set starting July 1st.

The pair of classic Disney characters are dressed in their original clothing and was designed with adults in mind. A number of accessories also come with the figures, including a guitar, a retro camera, and a photo album containing pictures of the couple from their past adventures.

The Lego Mickey and Minnie Mouse set comes in at 1,739 pieces. With Mickey Mouse standing at a height of 14 inches and Minnie Mouse being 13 inches tall, it’s easy to understand how so many pieces are used in this set. It’s also easier to understand why the set will retail for $199.99.

Details About Lego Mickey And Minnie Mouse

The set was designed by Lego designer Ollie Gregory, who promises those building the set may notice something special about the internals of the two Disney characters.

There are other surprises for Lego aficionados to find in the set as well. A brand new color, never before used by Lego, appears in the set. Color 363 – TR, is described by Gregory as being brown with opalescence. Fans of ’80s Lego may also recognize the couple’s noses are just a recolored classic space helmet, a piece that hasn’t been used in a Lego set since 1987.

The Lego Mickey and Minnie Mouse set joins a number of other Disney inspired Lego sets. Sets that have already been released include the Disney Train Station, Disney Castle, and Steamboat Willie. While the characters in the upcoming Lego Mickey and Minnie Mouse set look like the characters in the Steamboat Willie set, they dwarf the 5 inch tall, 751 piece boat.

The set can be bought from Lego Stores and Lego.com starting July 1st.

Lego has been hard at work over the last few months. The company announced six new Harry Potter sets in April, as well as having entered into an exclusive deal with Universal.
