Offline Android games seem like a thing of the past, with online multiplayer games like PUBG Mobile and Fortnite gaining popularity all over the world. While I’m all for moving over to online multiplayer games for good, mobile games that can be played offline really come in handy when you want to kill some time but don’t have access to a stable internet connection.
For times when you don’t have access to the internet and want to while away some time on your smartphone, you should check out these Android games:

In case you don’t have access to the internet and still want to be able to play games with your friends, then you should try out one of these multiplayer games:
DUAL! is a local multiplayer game which makes use of Bluetooth or WiFi to connect two devices, allowing two players to use their own devices and play games with each other. The game offers three competitive game modes – Dual, Deflect and Defend – which are fairly easy to pick up and can be a ton of fun once you get the hang of it. However, since Bluetooth connectivity for the game is currently in beta, you might face some issues connecting with your friends’ smartphone depending on the make and model of the device.
Gone are the days when you had to go to a nearby arcade to play air hockey with your friends, because you can now do that on your smartphone. Glow Hockey 2 offers a neon paradise where you can play air hockey against AI or your friends using the same smartphone and it works flawlessly without any internet connectivity. The game makes use of realistic physics which means that even though you’ll be playing on a mobile device, the game will feel a lot like the real deal.
Deul is another great offline game that you can enjoy with friends without an active internet connection. A fast paced action shooter, Deul is a modern iteration of a Mexican standoff which tests your reflexes, accuracy and timing, to blow your opponents brains out before they get you. The game makes use of ragdoll physics which results in gruesome yet funny matches in which you can shoot your opponent out of the screen. Deul has a regular single player mode which gets harder as you progress and it even has a local multiplayer mode in which both players can play using the same device.
Next up is Bomb Squad, a widely popular online multiplayer game which also includes a local multiplayer mode with support for up to 8 players. Bomb Squad features a number of mini-games in which the main objective is to blow up your opponents and thanks to the advanced ragdoll physics, getting a hang of the game is a challenge feat. The game can even be enjoyed on the big screen, using Android TV, with players using their smartphones as the controller. Bomb Squad should be your go-to choice if you’re spending time with a bunch of friends and don’t have access to the internet.
Much like Deul, Ready Steady Bang is a local multiplayer game that tests your reaction time in a Mexican standoff. The game is quite fun to play and features challenging opponents, which is great if you’re playing alone. I particularly like the way the game has been designed and I’m a fan of the slapstick comedy, which really adds on to the entertainment value. As far as local multiplayer games are concerned, Ready Steady Bang is definitely among my top 5 favorites on Android.
Rounding off the list is 3D Pool Ball, an entertaining pool game that you can play alone or with your friends even without an internet connection. The game has an 8-ball and a 9-ball pool mode, both of which can be enjoyed alone or with a friend, and it even has an online competitive mode which you can play in case you get access to the internet. For times when there’s no internet however, 3D Pool Ball is a great game to pull out to kill some time.
