In case you didn’t know, the world was introduced to the term “Gaming Phone” thanks to Razer in 2017. We saw some great additions last year, and it’s time we rack up the best devices to play Fortnite. So, bear with us.
1. Razer Phone 2
This is the best gaming phone you can buy in the market right now. Yes, it’s not cheap if that’s what you were expecting. This rather bulky phone comes with a 5.7” screen in HDR that features a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s not edgeless, but you can get the 16:9 aspect ratio.
It has great Dolby Atmos Sound but lacks a headphone jack for some reason. It also makes an excellent daily driver if you know how to handle a bulky smartphone. It boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with a beefy 8 GB ram. The battery is 4000mah and can easily last 10 hours of intensive use.
2. iPhone X
We know a lot of o people won’t admit it, but Apple’s iPhone X delivers good performance for its money. Yes, you can find an Android alternative that is a bit beefier for a bit less money, but that’s not the point. We are focusing on the gameplay experience, and according to our review, the iPhone X is only second best to Razer Phone 2.
However, if you compare the two of them, you will see the iPhone is a bit better if you need a classy daily driver. Not everyone wants a bulky powerhouse at their disposal. The O-LED Panel makes one of the most beautiful screens on the market. Not to mention, the tweaks in iOS with hexacore CPU and 3 GB ram makes this device quite snappy.
3. Galaxy S9 Plus
The best smartphone by Samsung, it offers everything you would expect from a flagship these days, this phone has a large screen which makes it rather fit for gaming. The only reason it ranked somewhat low on our list is that it lacks the battery life or management of Razer and iPhone X when it comes to playing Fortnite.
If you don’t want the gaming aesthetics of Razer Phone 2 and you are not an Apple guy, but you want the beefiest option available in the market, then you better go for the Galaxy S9. It has the same processor as Razor but in a bit stylish chassis.
4. Sony Xperia XZ2
If you cut Sony out of the smartphone realm, then you have a surprise waiting for you. Sony is pretty much up to par with the rest of the market. However, the old aesthetics are giving Sony a bad look. If they jump the train for notch and full body to screen ratio screen, they will again become one of the leaders in the mobile phone market space.
Anyhow, the Xperia XZ2 makes a rather stealthy option if you want the power of a flagship but don’t want anything flashy. The phone has the latest and greatest hardware with all the toys. Plus, the phone is a bit small. It can help you if you hate the trend of gigantic phones which don’t even fit in your pocket.
5. OnePlus 6
We understand if this is a bit surprising for you. But believe us, we were impressed by how well the rather budget-oriented phone performed when put next to full-fledge flagships when it came to playing Fortnite. This phone can suffice your needs if you want good performance for your money, but you are not convinced to spend a thousand bucks. In case your game has some lag or glitches, you can easily fix it with the highest settings.
Yes, there are some cuts made here and there. Still, you have an excellent performer that won’t disappoint you despite how long you keep gaming. OnePlus 6 is an excellent device that (thank god) doesn’t look like a recent iPhone.
Note: If you want to get the performance for your buck, these phones will suffice you. There were some other exotic options from ASUS and other brands, but they won’t give you the most bang for your buck. So, if you want a nice daily driver that can double up as a gaming powerhouse, then these phones won’t disappoint you.
