The TV personality, who made good of his decision to move to Colombia to be closer to his partner, remained conflicted throughout the premiere episode, worrying if he should disclose his identity as transgender to his to-be fiancé’s family.
Although the video creator understood the need to come clean to his prospective in-laws, he knew doing so could have dire repercussions, including losing his girlfriend if they disapproved. Looking to find answers, the reality star sought counsel from a friend.
Should 90 Day Fiancé Gabriel Paboga Hold Off The Proposal To Isabel?
During Sunday’s episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Gabriel Paboga relayed his proposal plans to a friend, asking to know if he should reveal his transgender status to Isabel Posada’s family before or after gaining their approval. The entrepreneur, who admittedly kept that part of him a secret from most of his friends, explained things were different with his girlfriend’s family.
He explained how they would become his family once he married Isabel, and therefore owed them the truth. Gabriel also dreaded the possibility of them learning the truth from anyone else should he choose to remain mum. He added;
After listening to his explanation, Gabriel Paboga’s friend encouraged him to come clean to Isabel Posada’s parents before the proposal; despite seemingly reaching a decision, the 90 Day Fiancé star could not but fear the implication of his next actions on his romance with Isabel.
The Florida native and his girlfriend came to terms with his identity earlier in their relationship. At the time, Isabel reassured him she had no issues with it. For a while, their acceptance of each other seemed to be all that mattered, as their relationship progressed. However, with their respective families becoming more involved as the two plan to move their relationship forward, things do not seem as easy anymore.
Gabriel especially is unconvinced about where his partner Isabel Posada’s loyalties truly lie when faced between her family’s rejection and her love for him. For now, he could only hope they never have to find out.
