The visit also gave the excited mom a chance to discuss her relationship with Usman and their plans to expand their family.
Sunday’s Episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? followed Kim Menzies as she anticipated the reunion with her son. Ahead of the meeting, Kim admitted she felt anxious about the whole situation, especially regarding breaching the subject of adopting Usman’s nephew, Mahadi.
Kim Menzies and Usman’s Adoption Plan May Yet Push Through
The adoption plan was the latest development in Kim Menzies and Usman’s plan to help the latter have kids and gain his mom’s acceptance. After their initial plans to have the budding Nigerian rapper marry a second, much-younger wife to have kids with failed to pull through, the couple began considering other options. Then the 33-year-old proposed the idea of adopting his brother Mohammed’s son Mahadi.
Although Kim Menzies, who was struggling through the aftermath of losing her mom, opposed the adoption idea initially, calling it crazy, she seems to be buying into it lately. But with her son’s arrival, it appears reality is finally dawning on her. The 52-year-old divulged:
Jamal already has his misgivings when it comes to his mom’s unusual relationship and Usman’s character. However, the reality star is convinced both men would hit it off once they met.
Kim Menzies Relays Her Fears To Her Son
When Kim Menzies finally found the courage to discuss the adoption plan with her son and her underlying fears. She explained how she wanted to make sure she was doing the right thing before completely giving in to Umar Usman’s idea to adopt his nephew. She also clarified that she wasn’t considering the idea just to keep Usman, as she’d sooner end her relationship with him than hurt herself or her fiancé. After their little heart-to-heart conversation, Jamal had the best advice for his mom, saying,
As the mother-son duo arrived at the airport, an awaiting Usman rushed to embrace Kim, leaving Jamal flustered. He admitted to the cameras that he felt like he threw up at that instant. Usman treated the pair to a series of local Nigerian dishes and aired his views about Jamal not liking him.
Kim’s son explained he was simply wary of seeing his mom get hurt. Usman gifted him a PS5 game console and had a conversation about respecting him as a man and leaned to trust his mom’s relationship. In the end, the two men seemed to get along well enough, just as Kim predicted, leaving Jamal feeling positive.
