Production on Season 4 of the HBO sketch comedy show A Black Lady Sketch Show has started. The comedian Robin Thede created the series. A Black Lady Sketch Show was renewed last June for Season 4. The third season won two Emmy Awards. The series has had a total of 13 Emmy nominations so far and has won three. Robin Thede stars in the series alongside series regulars: Gabrielle Dennis and Skye Townsend. DaMya Gurley, Tamara Jade, and Angel Laketa Moore are the new cast members of the HBO sketch comedy show. Unfortunately, Ashley Nicole Black won’t return for the new episodes. She appeared in the sketches for Trinity the invisible spy and Ruth, one of the disciplettes in “The Last Supp-her”. Black will next appear in Bad Monkey for Apple TV+. Quinta Brunson was a previous series regular but left to create her Emmy Award-winning series Abbott Elementary.
Robin Thede Continues to Amaze with Her Sketch Comedy Series
The comedian previously worked as the head writer for the series The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore. Robin Thede created, wrote for, and was an executive producer for The Rundown with Robin Thede. She has acting credits in All of Us, Buppies, In the Flow with Affion Crockett, and Clunkers. The HBO sketch comedy show A Black Lady Sketch Show is her longest-running project. The recurring sketches that starred Ashley Nicole Black will be no more for Season 4 of A Black Lady Sketch Show. That doesn’t mean that the HBO sketch comedy show won’t have more surprising and hilarious content. Thede knows what she’s doing and Season 4 should be just as enjoyable as the first three seasons of A Black Lady Sketch Show. Rae for Hoorae, Dave Becky and Jonathan Berry for 3 Arts Entertainment, and Tony Hernandez and Brooke Posch for Jax Media executive produce the series.
