Tonya Hopkins Has Been a Champion of Foods within Black Culture

Cooking runs in the family for Tonya Hopkins. The long line of cooks in her family can be traced all the way back to enslaved Black Americans in the United States. Later on, Hopkins’ emancipated ancestors cooked in wealthy white homes and private and public eateries. Her family has been able to incorporate food into their livelihoods for generations. Tonya Hopkins continues her family’s culinary traditions and will show viewers on The Kwanzaa Menu on FoodNetwork.com. The Food Network Kwanzaa will have seven episodes. Different members of Hopkins’ family will make guest appearances. The Food Network Kwanzaa series will discuss the Nguzu Saba, the seven principles, and the history of the lesser-known holiday. Hopkins is the right person for this job because of her long career as a culinary history consultant, podcast creator, drinks designer, and many more titles to her name.

Best Wishes Studio is producing the series. Tonya Hopkins takes pride in knowing her family’s history with food and the history of the holiday. This will give people the chance to understand and see Kwanzaa in a whole different way, with Hopkins’ direction. The Kwanzaa Menu will premier on December 26 on FoodNetwork.com.
