A Little Golf Journey is a narrative golf puzzle game that was released today. It was developed by Okidokico and published by Playtonic Friends (Yooka-Laylee) is out on Nintendo Switch and PC on the Steam and GOG platforms. Check out the launch trailer for the game below.

A Little Golf Story looks to be a relaxing little game where players can explore courses and play a stripped-back version of golf. Instead of playing for the lowest score like in regular golf, A Little Golf Journey encourages players to explore the course by playing however they like. As Okidokico says, “A Little Golf Journey is all about the journey, not the driver.” Players can enjoy a relaxing, puzzling and exploratory experience in the game.

There are a wide variety of courses to explore in A Little Golf Story including your typical courses, what looks to be at least one desert-type course with ruins, and, naturally, a course on the Moon. Because of course you can play golf on the Moon! A Little Golf Journey looks to be the most relaxing game I’ve seen in some time. The trailer makes me want to play the game on a cold and rainy day later this winter.

A Little Golf Journey comes on the back of other recent golfing hits with a twist. Golf Story, which was released in 2017, arguably pioneered this format of golf games that aren’t really about golf. Golf Story became an overnight sensation when it was released on the Nintendo Switch during the console’s first year of life.

I for one am happy to see this genre expanding into games like A Little Golf Story.

A Little Golf Journey releases today on Nintendo Switch and PC on GOG and Steam. A Little Golf Journey is on sale for early adopters during its first week of release.
