The truth about Abandoned is finally near once again as the Abandoned Realtime Experience app pre-load is now live on PS5. After months of mysterious coincidences, delays and conspiracy deflections, Blue Box Studios is almost ready to showcase its debut game. Denizens of Twitter and Reddit ran rampant with conspiracy theories connecting legendary game director Hideo Kojima to the supposed indie title. Many believed that Silent Hill was making its return after hints from Blue Box said the name started with an “S” and ended with an “L.”

Since then, its game director, Hasan Kahraman, has come on camera to dissuade people from believing the conspiracy. Though the videos have done little to dissuade some on the internet, the buzz has generally died down. Blue Box had zero activity on Twitter between July 14 and July 27, which ended when the account listed the date for preloading the Abandoned Realtime Experience app.

All content from the Realtime Experience can also be found online on YouTube and from our website as a HQ video. But we recommend PS5 owners to experience all of it through the app for the best experience.

The app itself opens up to a black screen with text that says, “Check back later….” It also says that the player won’t be able to control anything in the trailers but will feel haptics in the Dual Sense controller. This is because the PS5 itself will be rendering the trailers in real-time, as the name suggests. The Realtime Experience app doesn’t actually run video but loads 3D cutscenes.

Downloading the app shouldn’t take too long either since it’s only about 2GB in size. Unfortunately for Japan and Germany, the app isn’t available just yet due to localization restraints. German users will require a PS Plus account to download and use it.

The first trailer for the Realtime Experience app is expected to premiere on August 10. Availability of the trailer will depend on the timezone as some locations were able to download the app earlier than others. Trailers for Abandoned will be made available on YouTube as well for others to enjoy it outside of the app.
