After the purchase by Microsoft, fans of Activision Blizzard have been questioning their state of affairs. While some games like Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 have been properties fans have been waiting a while for, there are several unannounced projects in the works. Of course, one of the biggest is the next iteration of the Warcraft series. Despite the remake of Warcraft 3: Reforged not living up to expectations, Blizzard moves on. With the World of Warcraft MMO always moving forward, the series has maintained smaller releases. Yet as those releases dwindled, so did the larger connected game universes. Yet, as Blizzard moves forward with new ventures, the hope for something fresh is still there. In this year’s earnings report, Blizzard shared some of the upcoming ideas they have for the Warcraft series including a mobile game.
It seems Warcraft is Activision Blizzard’s next franchise that is headed to mobile
“Blizzard is planning substantial new content for the Warcraft franchise in 2022, including […] all-new mobile Warcraft content into players’ hands for the first time.“https://t.co/S9Zbkwb8SB pic.twitter.com/9hrzpcFjKE

When Will Activision Blizzard Reveal The Warcraft Mobile Game?
The first part of their statement on the future of Warcraft is hopeful. Writing, “Blizzard is planning substantial new content for the Warcraft franchise in 2022, including new experiences in World of Warcraft and Hearthstone…” Yet what follows is a statement that makes some wary about the future of the Warcraft franchise. Describing an “all-new mobile warcraft” type experience, fans remain expectedly skeptical. While the game could turn out just fine, it’s still a mobile game. With only some elements of the f past, many will pass on it. Seeing a former gaming titan such as Warcraft be relegated to mobile games can be disappointing. Waiting for a big-budget release only to be greeted with a smaller accessible mobile title is underwhelming for long-time fans. Still, we will have to wait and see what Activision Blizzard is cooking up in their mobile department.
