The big news is that Activision Blizzard will be sued over a former employee’s death. The family of a former employee who tragically committed suicide last year is taking legal action against the company, claiming that sexual harassment played a vital role in the death, and accuses the publisher of not fully complying with the police investigation as well.

It was only today that we at The Nerd Stash reported on the company’s problems in retaining staff due to claims of sexual harassment in the workplace, and there have been countless claims against the company in recent time, but this former employee’s death was one of the most horrifying details from last year’s California Department for Fair Employment and Housing Suit against Activision Blizzard.

What are the details of Activision Blizzard getting sued?

The Washington Post reported that the family of an Activision Blizzard employee who committed suicide at one of the company’s many retreats had filed a lawsuit against the controversial company, claiming that the victim’s boss had sexually harassed her on many occasions during her time with the company. Not only that, but the lawsuit also accuses the boss in question of lying to the police who were investigating her death, covering up evidence, and hiding the fact he had a sexual relationship with her.

The family also took aim at the publisher as well, saying that Activision Blizzard wouldn’t turn over any of the laptops that the pair owned to the police, and claimed that her cellphone had been wiped as well – something smells fishy here. A spokesperson from Activision Blizzard said this at the time of the DFEH suit, “We are sickened by the conduct of the DFEH to drag this tragic former employee’s death into this case.” So, for this week’s lawsuit (they are coming thick and fast for these guys), a representative told the Washington Post that they are saddened by the death but will deal with the complaint in the correct legal process.

Activision Blizzard getting sued is the latest in a long line of lawsuits that the company is facing, and going by what the reports are telling us, they are incredibly wicked. More on this as it develops.
