Numerous leaked pictures and retail listings have lead people to (rightly) believe that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered would eventually get a standalone release, and now publisher Activision has made it official. The popular shooter will be available for PlayStation 4 next week.

Previously, the game was only available to those who purchased certain special editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. This upset many fans who felt that Modern Warfare was the superior title and they did not want to be forced to purchase another game entirely to gain access. They’ve finally gotten their wish over half a year later.

Activision announced that Modern Warfare remastered will release both digitally and physically on June 27th for PlayStation 4 with “other platforms to follow.” There is no word on when it will release separately for Xbox One or PC.

The $40 game contains the entire campaign and 16 multiplayer maps. Unfortunately, it does not come with the Variety Map Pack that brought another four remastered multiplayer maps to the game. If players want that, they’ll need to shell out an additional $15.
