Zach Braff’s Therapy Sessions Saved His Life

Zach Braff says therapy saved him. “I’ve been in therapy on and off my whole life,” the actor told Page Six at a Paley Center for Media screening of Apple+’s new series Shrinking.

Zach revealed that therapy helped him to deal with his best friend Nick Cordero’s passing. Nick died of COVID, at age 41, in July 2020. After the Broadway performer’s passing, the Last Kiss actor penned an emotional tribute to his friend on social media.

Zach recounted at the time that Nick’s last message to him was a request for him to take care of his wife and son. The Garden State actor promised to care for his friend’s family, ensuring they never lacked anything.

Zach also got a tattoo of Nick dancing on Broadway in a suit and hat. The performance was for the 2014 Broadway musical Bullets over Broadway, where they both starred.

Zach Braff’s New Show Is About Therapy

Actor Zach Braff reminisced over Nick’s passing at the screening, saying it was a tough time for him. He added:

The show is premised on a shrink who begins to break the rules by telling his patients exactly what he thinks. The comedy series was co-created by Segel, Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein, and TV producer Bill Lawrence, who also produced Scrubs.

“I think that’s one of the wonderful things about this show,” Zach, who directed episodes of the new show, explained.

It is good to know that Zach’s therapy sessions have impacted his life. Hopefully, the actor continues to get the proper care he needs to heal fully.
