Some gamers get a thrill from fighting monsters, getting into firefights and causing huge explosions. Many action-packed games exist for that reason. Plenty of titles feature extremely powerful characters who wreak havoc on their worlds for our entertainment. For example, think about gods like Kratos from God of War or the Daedric Princes of The Elder Scrolls series. Such powerful beings are known for chaos, violence, and the action that is inherent to their respective games. But what if gods didn’t want to fight? Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island is an upcoming PC adventure game where the player can befriend the gods of ancient mythology. According to publisher Whitehorn Games, the game is planned to release sometime next year.
A new trailer for the game debuted yesterday, and today’s press release revealed more details about this game.

“When developing Mythwrecked, we wanted to ensure that it could be played and enjoyed by everyone,’ said Alex Kanaris-Sotiriou, Creative Director of Polygon Treehouse and Lead Developer of Mythwrecked. ‘That mentality, and the game’s combination of non-violent gameplay, accessible controls and universal themes, made our choice to partner with Whitethorn Games a no-brainer.”
What can players expected from Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island when the game launches next year?
Players will control Alex, a backpacker who finds herself shipwrecked on the eponymous island. There, Alex makes the acquaintance of the Greek Gods.
“But something is wrong — the Gods are cursed and have forgotten who they are! In order to piece together what happened, Alex must journey across the island, finding and befriending the Gods, and helping them restore their memories.”
The premise of the game is to help these famous faces from mythology remember who they are. The player must interact with the Gods, solve puzzles and fulfill requests to solve the mystery and beat the game.
“Performing odd jobs and favors, overcoming puzzles and challenges to restore parts of the island, returning lost mementos, and inquiring about specific objects and locales will help jog the Gods’ memories and deepen their bond with Alex. Completing the right tasks and asking the right questions will trigger flashbacks and reveal the story of the island’s curse. Can Alex restore the gods, lift the curse and find a way home?”
Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island will launch on PC in 2023.
