Age of Empires IV finally gets a special update and an event. The event isn’t the only thing. We also see a new map and a few changes to the game. Gamers were expecting that update, and Xbox Game Studios made the expectations real. The update’s content has essential points, and AOE IV players should know about them.
The game’s previous update brought some bug fixes and wasn’t filled with playable content. The new school Age of Empires game now passes to Season 2, and we should expect even more updates.
Age of Empires IV Gets a Special Event With a New Map
The new map is named The Pit. It’s a forested area and keeps the style of the other maps. Alongside this, that new event gives you digital item awards. This combination is good for players who want to explore The Pit map. You can download the update right now, and you have to because the older versions are unusable after now. Xbox Game Studios wanted to be sure every player had a similar experience, and the decision is for that policy.
There are small but important changes too. Now, players can vote on the map with an upvote and a downvote button. Also, assigning hotkeys and remapping commands are there for a customizable game experience. One of the changes we asked from the developers is here too, and now the Panoramic View is on the game. It lets you have a better bird’s eye view of the map.
And the old game saves, and game replays are unusable with the update. They’re not corrupted or deleted. But you can’t play them on the new version of the game. There are also minor changes most players won’t care about, but you can check them out from this page.
The game is available for PC on Steam and Microsoft Store. Also, you can access it with your Game Pass subscription.
