The HD remastered version of the Xbox 360 cult classic Alan Wake is finally here. When making your way through the world, you will come across several enemies and obstacles. With so many threats out for your head, you are bound to take a few hits here and there, so it is important to know how to get that health back. This guide will show you how to heal in Alan Wake Remastered.

How to Heal in Alan Wake Remastered

The way to regain health in Alan Wake Remastered is tied to light. There are no traditional health or medkits to heal your injuries. Instead, you are going to need to lead Alan into light sources. The primary form of healing comes in the form of the Safe Havens that can be found throughout the episodes of the game. These are usually depicted as a streetlight and will sometimes task you with repairing a generator to have the Safe Haven to be activated. These areas will keep enemies away from Alan and allow you to regain some much-needed HP. This also works for any lit rooms or buildings, so if you come across any of them in your journey, make sure to take a reprieve.

You can also use flares to put down temporary healing locations but dropping individual flares or using your flare gun. If you are using a controller, use the RB/R1 button to drop a flare at your feet, doing so will keep any nearby enemies away from you and will slowly begin to regenerate your health while the flare slowly burns out. If you hold the button down, you will be able to walk with the flare in hand. Using the flare gun will kill enemies that the flare hits and will act just as the other flares do, allowing you to heal by standing in its light. This will allow you to get some health back during combat, but flare gun ammo can be a bit rare, so use it wisely.

Alan Wake Remastered is now available for PC via the Epic Games Store, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
