In addition to the new Valkyrie heirloom and cosmetics, the Apex Legends Awakening Collection Event is also implementing some crucial changes to the game’s ranked mode. After the recent overhaul of the ranked mode with the Season 13 update, the developers are putting into action some more adjustments to further improve the gameplay.

Split Reset Change
To make the rank reset softer this season, the reset for the upcoming split has been changed from six to four divisions. This means that players are sent back down one tier instead of the usual one and a half tiers.
Lower Entry Cost
The entry cost for each ranked match now requires 10 less RP across all divisions and tiers. The following table shows the entry cost (RP required) for all ranks in the game after update 13.1.
For the Masters rank, the base entry cost is now only 65 RP, which further increases with total RP, i.e., 5 RP for every 1000 RP beyond the Masters threshold and up to 175 RP.
More RP for getting high kills
Players are awarded with more RP for having high elimination counts in the ranked mode.
More RP for eliminating higher tier players
Players who kill opponents of higher ranks than theirs are now entitled to greater RP gains.
