One of the year’s biggest horror movie successes, Barbarian, has set an October 25 release to streaming services with a new featurette that was delivered by Bloody Disgusting. We get a look behind the curtain with director and writer Zach Cregger (The Whitest Kids U’Know) and stars Bill Skarsgård and producer Roy Lee (The Grudge, The Ring, It).

With the streaming release of Barbarian, we will receive some bonuses for watching it at home. While being available in 4K Ultra HD, audiences will get to watch four deleted scenes titled “Bonnie,” “Doug Extended,” “Tess Calls Marcus,” and “The Rat.” Then there will be a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the bombastic film with the cast and crew.

Barbarian streaming release set for October 25 with new featurette

Through strong word of mouth and reviews, along with some big names like Skarsgård and Justin Long, Barbarian proved it did not need streaming to be a hit. The theatrical run, which you can still catch on the big screen, put it as one of the top-performing horror films of the year. The horror flick is the fifth highest-grossing horror film of the year, with $38 million off its $4 million budget. Going up from there, Smile grossed $89 million and still rising off its second weekend; Scream at $140 million; The Black Phone at $159 million; and Jordan Peele’s latest film, Nope, grossed $170 million worldwide. Peele also supported the film by giving Cregger advice after being shown an early cut.

The Cregger horror film follows a woman (Georgina Campbell) who rents an Airbnb and finds herself at a crossroads as a man (Skarsgård) has also rented the same house and settled inside before her arrival. As they try to figure something out for their sleeping arrangements while they are in town, she discovers a secret room in the basement.
