Dearest gentle readers, are you familiar with the Bridgertons? If not, you are missing out on the Netflix show that’s a perfect mix of Gossip Girl meets the Regency Era in England. According to Nielsen’s Streaming Top 10 list reported on Thursday, Bridgerton’s Season 2 gained over 2.5 Billion minutes in watch time during its premiere week on Netflix from March 21st to March 27th.

According to Nielsen

Season 2 of Bridgerton premiered on March 25th last month and has already made Netflix history by becoming the most-watched debut on the streaming giant. After Nielsen’s Streaming top 10 was released today, Nielsen also revealed 76% of Bridgerton Season 2 viewers were female during its week after premiering. The way the Nielsen ratings work is not by breaking down streaming data by season but rather by minutes of viewership across all 16 episodes from both Season 1 and 2 in total. Netflix revealed the Shondaland produced period drama was watched for a record 627.11 million hours in its first 28 days after the release of Bridgerton Season 2 exceeded past Season 1, which had 625.49 million hours accumulated during the same amount of time.

Bridgerton Season Two

After the booming success of last year’s series premiere, so many fans of the Netflix series couldn’t wait to watch Bridgerton Season 2. Season one focused on the eldest Bridgerton sister, Daphne (Pheobe Dynevor), being the diamond of the season and her blossoming scandalous relationship with the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page). Season 2 would focus on the next Bridgerton sibling to hopefully find love, the eldest brother, the Viscount Anthony Bridgerton(Jonathan Bailey). The uniqueness of each season shedding light and focusing more in-depth on another Bridgerton sibling makes the show that much more enjoyable. If you have yet watched this season, I certainly encourage you to do so (and yes, this season is semi-safe to watch in public).

Bridgerton Season 2 focuses on enemies turned lovers and the complications that come with being the head of the family. This season introduces the lovely Sharma sisters played by the talented actors Simone Ashley of Netflix’s Sex Education and Charithra Chandran of Alex Rider.
