Her family said regarding her death, “We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce, and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered.” Kirstie Alley famously played Rebecca Howe on Cheers from 1987 to 1993. She has many credits in film and television that made her a Hollywood icon. Her more recent work includes Masked Singer, and You Can’t Take My Daughter. The award-winning actor leaves behind a legacy of enjoyable characters, and many people are sad about her passing. Madhouse and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan are among her filmography. Her former Look Who’s Talking co-star John Travolta shared a tribute to the actress. Prior to her breakout role on Cheers, Kirstie Alley had other notable roles. Alley played Saavik in the second Star Trek film Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. The character was brought back for the next Star Trek film, but Alley declined to continue the role. Before joining Cheers, Kirstie Alley starred in the series Quark, Match Game, and Masquerade. She joined the show to replace Shelley Long and stayed with the show until it ended. The Cheers star, now passed at 71, won an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award for her work on the sitcom. She earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1995 because of her film and television work. The Look Who’s Talking films won her further acclaim, as well as the series Veronica’s Closet. The 71-year-old Cheers left quite an imprint in pop culture.
