Childhood friends turn to rivals in the ring. The Creed 3 trailer (seen below) sees the journey that Michael B Jordan has taken, and now he must fight Jonathan Majors. It will mark the feature directorial debut of the Black Panther star as it punches into the theaters on March 3, 2023.

The footage from the Creed 3 trailer honors Apollo Creed from the Rocky movies, Rocky himself, and what the leading man’s character, Adonis, has gone through with his past rivals. He catches up with a friend, Damian Anderson, played by the Lovecraft Country star, who got out of 18 years of prison. As our protagonist tries to help his old friend, those old wounds bleed as Damian reveals he is coming at him for everything he missed out on that Adonis achieved. There will be a time jump in which sees the evolution of his relationship with Bianca (Tessa Thompson) with their daughter Amara, played by Mila Davis.

The world of Rocky continues, but not with Sylvester Stallone. Due to issues with producer Irwin Winkler holding the rights with nothing to Stallone, he will be absent from the third film in the spinoff trilogy. Still, we get to see the expansion of the world through Adonis, who has his mightiest foe yet.

The Creed 3 trailer highlights some of the supporting cast. The rest of the stars include Thompson, Florian Munteanu (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), Phylicia Rashad (This Is Us), Selenis Leyva (Orange Is the New Black), Spencer Moore II (All American), and Thaddeus J. Mixson (South of Heaven).

Keenan Coogler (Space Jame: A New Legacy) and Zach Baylin (King Richard) wrote the script. The story is based on what was written by Ryan Coogler (Black Panther), who directed the first film of the trilogy.
