There will be a Season 2 of the Peacock true-crime anthology series Dr. Death, and Mandy Moore is part of the cast. Moore will play the investigative journalist Benita Alexander. Her character falls in love with Paolo Macchiarini, played by Edgar Ramirez. The Peacock true-crime anthology series is based on the third season of Wondery’s podcast of the same name. Season 2 of Dr. Death will follow the charming surgeon Paolo Macchiarini, nicknamed ‘Miracle Man,’ but things change when Benita Alexander (Moore) crosses his path. Joshua Jackson, Alec Baldwin, Grace Gummer, and Christian Slater starred in the first season of the series. Season 1 followed the hazardous Dr. Christopher Duntsch as he butchered one patient after another. It premiered back in July 2021 on Peacock. Patrick Macmanus was the showrunner and executive producer of Season 1 and will continue on as an executive producer for Season 2.

Mandy Moore is going from ‘This is Us’ to ‘Dr. Death’

She started her career as a singer and has released seven studio albums in her career. The actor has made numerous television and film appearances throughout her career. Moore received critical acclaim for her role as Rebecca Pearson in the NBC family drama This is Us. The series ended after six seasons last May. The singer and actor will be in another series adaptation of a Wondery podcast called Twin Flames for Hulu. It will be a This is Us reunion with co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. Mandy Moore can further show her acting talents as Benita Alexander in the Peacock true-crime anthology series Dr. Death. It comes as no surprise that she is getting so many more offers after her great work on This is Us. She has adapted well from a teen pop star to a seasoned actor.

There is no release date for Season 2 of Dr. Death which will star Edgar Ramirez and Mandy Moore.
