Some shoots can be so difficult an actor may question if they will get through it. On Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett’s SmartLess podcast, Emily Blunt recalled a brutal time on Edge of Tomorrow with Tom Cruise. Most of that was the practical suits they wore to battle aliens that were 80 pounds, which made her cry to the Mission: Impossible star.
On the podcast, Emily Blunt talked about how Tom Cruise told her not to be a “p—y” over the suits in Edge of Tomorrow. It was not an overly serious insult to her as she laughed it off, and they “got through” the tough shoot on the 2014 movie.

Although the heavy suits made it difficult, the star is no stranger to action and intensive films. She led two action-packed horror films A Quiet Place; Jungle Cruise with Dwayne Johnson; and was one of the leads in Denis Villenueve’s Sicario.
The film followed a soldier (Cruise) who was stuck in a time loop fighting aliens. When he died, he would restart the day. It starred the two leads with Bill Paxton, Brendan Gleeson, Tony Way, and Jonas Armstrong.
The sci-fi film flopped at the box office by grossing $370 million off its $178 million budget, despite its positive reception from critics. Due to this, its original name, Live Die Repeat, was used in some markets when it left the theater. Edge of Tomorrow with Emily Blunt and Tom Cruise was the theatrical name which a studio executive wanted, going against the wishes of director Doug Liman.
Despite failing at the box office, Edge of Tomorrow 2 could happen if Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt are on board, according to Liman. The Quiet Place star cited the film’s budget and scheduling of herself, her co-star, and Liman as the main roadblock in getting it made.
