Known for its big ensemble casts, Fargo season 5 continues the trend, with Joe Keery from Stranger Things being added. He will play Gator Tillman with Lamorne Morris (New Girl) as Witt Farr and Richa Moorjani (Never Have I Ever) as Indira Olmstead. The three new additions for the long-awaited return of the anthology series will join Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Juno Temple (Atonement), and Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight).

Fargo is a twist on the Coen brothers’ movie of the same name. The anthology season takes place in the town of the name of the series and film, where all sorts of criminal antics take place with a tone that balances comedy and drama. Some seasons have been heavily connected with the first two, with the others being more standalone with looser ties. Previous seasons have seen big stars like Ewan McGregor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Martin Freeman, Jesse Plemons, Jessie Buckley, Kirsten Dunst, Chris Rock, Colin Hanks, Billy Bob Thornton, and Bob Odenkirk.

Fargo season 5 adds Joe Keery and more to its hefty cast

The ball is picking up speed as details trickle out about the long-awaited return of Fargo. The six-time Emmy-winning series debuted in 2014 and had its last season in 2020. Hopefully, the next season is sooner rather than later. Not much is known outside of its cast, with a few character names. Warren Littlefield, Joel and Ethan Coen, Steve Stark, Kim Todd, and Vincent Landay serve as executive producers.

Creator Noah Hawley is keeping himself busy. While working on Fargo season 5, he is working on a Hulu Alien series. The untitled series will mark the first major project under Disney since the Fox merger. The scripts are currently complete, and they will eye starting production by 2023.

The next season of Fargo has no release date, but filming begins this fall. You can watch the series on Hulu.
