Seven years since Mad Max: Fury Road went above all expectations as both an exhilarating action movie and a multi-Academy Award winner. The Furiosa synopsis has been released by Warner Bros., giving us a look at what the story will entail. One thing we can expect, as this is a prequel, we will see Fury Road villain Immortan Joe return as a character in the story of Furiosa.
Furiosa, as the synopsis details, will show how she got into the Green Place and eventually into the hands of Immortan Joe. It is unsure how different he will be with him being younger and possibly with or without the health complications that we see in the 2015 film. Either way, his role may play a different part, with Dementus and his gang being the central antagonists. We also don’t know who will play Dementus.
Furiosa Synopsis Details Character Return for the Prequel
While the Furiosa synopsis leaves some crumbs to get interested in what will be in store for fans, the cast has the same effect. In Fury Road, the character was played by Charlize Theron. Starring as the younger woman will be Anya Taylor-Joy. She will be joined by Chris Hemsworth and Tom Burke (Mank). Returning from Fury Road will be Nathan Jones and Angus Sampson.
George Miller returns to writing and directing the film with Fury Road writer Nick Lathouris.
The film drives into theaters on May 24th, 2024.
