Freeform renewed the sitcom spin-off series Grown-ish for Season 6. Craig Doyle will be a co-showrunner alongside Zakiyyah Alexander and Courtney Lilly. Doyle has been with the series from the get-go, first as a co-executive producer. By Season 2, Doyle was made an executive producer. He has also worked on Black-ish, The Great Indoors, Undateable, and Family Tools. Grown-ish is a spin-off of the series Black-ish, which ended last year. Yara Shahidi plays Zoey Johnson in it and Marcus Scribner plays Andre Johnson Jr. Kenya Barris and Larry Wilmore created the Freeform sitcom spin-off series. The show now follows his Jr. through his first year at Cal U. Alexander, Lilly, Doyle, Shahidi, Anthony Anderson, Laurence Fishburne, Helen Sugland, E. Brian Dobbins, and Michael Petok are executive producers of it. Viewers get to see more of Yara Shahidi and Marcus Scribner for Season 6 of Grown-ish.
“Grown-ish” Will Expand on the Brother-Sister Relationship of the Characters Played by Marcus Scribner and Yara Shahidi
Marcus Scribner first joined the cast of Grown-ish in Season 5 and will return for Season 6. His character Jr. decided to give college another try and enrolled in Cal U where his big sister attends. Yara Shahidi is the main star of the series, but Zoey will now have to look out for her little brother while living the college life. Season 6 will now be Zoey and Jr.’s shared college experiences in Grown-ish. The Freeform sitcom spin-off series has shown the many highs and lows of Zoey’s academic and romantic life. The Johnson family matriarch and patriarch have made cameos here and there, but it is mostly a Zoey Johnson show. Chloe and Halle Bailey did however have recurring characters for the first four seasons of the Freeform sitcom spin-off series. Despite Black-ish being over, fans can at least keep up with Jr. and Zoey.
There is no announcement on the premiere date of Season 6 of Grown-ish.
