After a year of strained game development, the gaming industry is taking their time in getting back on their feet. For many publishers, porting older titles to new systems with enhanced graphics is an easy market to garner. For publisher Bandai Namco, the Nintendo Switch Switch has been at the forefront of their recent ports. It’s only natural for Bandai Namco to start porting more series over with big popular titles like Dragon Ball FighterZ and Dark Souls Remastered already on the Switch. Seeing how their latest title is without a Switch port, CyberConnect2 is finally revisiting one of their oldest franchises. Finally, the .hack series has come to a Nintendo console. The ESRB has rated .hack//G.U Last Recode again for an upcoming and unannounced Nintendo Switch port.

How will the Switch port preform against other platforms?

The classic Action Role Playing Game by CyberConnect2 has played an instrumental role in the developers history. Starting in the early 2000s, the original .hack garnered its fame for simulating an MMORPG storyline over months of releases and eventually a whole franchise. .hack//G.U Last Recode, was released for PS4 and PC on Steam in 2017. It was CyberConnect2’s last compilation title before developing Dragon Ball Z Kakarot which released last January. With attempts made in the past with .hack mobile games and PSP titles, having the full trilogy on Nintendo Switch is the perfect place for the new world. While details on  performance are still unknown, fans can expect lower fps when playing in handheld mode while docked will run smoothest. With no set release date in place just yet, an announcement is surely due soon.
