The reboot of iCarly is renewed for season 3 on Paramount+. The series will aim for production later this year for a 2023 premiere on the streaming platform. Season 2 of the revived Nickelodeon classic wrapped in June.
The series follows Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove), who brings back her popular web series with the help of her brother Spencer (Jerry Trainor) and her friend Freddie (Nathan Kress). It also stars Laci Mosley (A Black Lady Sketch Show), Jaidyn Triplett (The Affair), Mary Scheer (The Penguins of Madagascar), and Poppy Liu (Hacks).
A teaser was released for the announcement that iCarly has been renewed. It shows off its cast, including Josh Peck from Drake & Josh, as he got to reunite with Cosgrove in the latest season of the rebooted series.
iCarly renewed for season 3 at Paramount+
Ali Schouten-Seeks (Young & Hungry) serves as showrunner and executive producer. Cosgrove serves as executive producer. Trainor, Kress, and Alissa Vradenburg serve as producer the series.
Since getting renewed, iCarly has clearly found success as a reboot for a new generation. It found itself by evolving its style, technological language, and humor while maintaining what original viewers remembered of the original series.
The original was created by Dan Schneider and ran from 2007 to 2012. It fell in line with the streak of successful YA shows that Schneider was producing, like Zoey 101 and Drake & Josh. Cosgrove, who also starred in Drake & Josh, was joined by Trainor, Kress, and Scheer. It also starred Jenette McCurdy as Sam and Noah Munck as Gibby. During its lifetime, the series was nominated for seven Emmys.
Now that iCarly is renewed for season 3, you can catch up with the first two seasons on Paramount+. No date has been set for the next season.
