Willem Dafoe goes slowly insane as a heist goes wrong in the trailer for the upcoming movie Inside (seen below). The film taps into a blend of genres as it dips its feet into crime, drama, and psychological horror as he tries to escape a penthouse in New York City that has gone into lockdown.
The trailer for Inside shows the story that follows Willem Dafoe as an art thief. When inside a penthouse to steal some high-end art, the security measures are triggered and lock him in. His team abandons him, leaving the lone thief to fend for himself to find an escape. We see him using everything in the penthouse to survive as he hunts for food and water. He gets creative with his attempts to escape as he dismantles furniture to use as tools. With no hope of getting out, he slowly spirals downward into a pit of insanity and despair.

It was executive produced by Charlez Breitkreuz, Katsoupis, Stephen Kelliher, and Jim Stark.
The Inside trailer shows that this will be an intense role for Willem Dafoe, and he is no stranger to these kinds of challenging jobs. He has shown his acting muscles for decades with Oscar nominations for Platoon, Shadow of the Vampire, The Florida Project, and At Eternity’s Gate. He has also done psychologically demanding films like The Lighthouse. He has proven himself physically, too, with Aquaman, Spider-Man: No Way Home and Spider-Man 2, and John Wick.
The film hits theaters on March 10, 2023.
