While Timothy Olyphant reprises his role as U.S. Marshall Raylan Givens in Justified: City Primeval, production was put on pause after a gunfight, Deadline reports. Filming in Chicago, two cars broke through the barricades and drove onto the set as the occupants engaged in a shootout. Olyphant was present, and nobody was injured during the Wednesday (July 20) firefight by Douglas Park as the crew and cast took cover.

Justified: City Primeval production was closed yesterday and today. The FX project is expected to resume on Monday.

FX reviving its hit series with Justified: City Primeval will see an older Raylan Givens with a 14-year-old daughter in his new home of Miami, where he started in the first few minutes of the pilot of the original series. The series will see his balance between parenting and having a career. The daughter, Willa, will be played by Olyphant’s real daughter, Vivian. The show is inspired by Elmore Leonard’s crime novel City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit.

The original series won two Emmys during its six seasons. It starred Olyphant, Nick Searcy, Joelle Carter, Jacob Pitts, Walton Goggins, and Erica Tazel.

FX put in an eight-episode order for Justified: City Primeval. The new cast surrounding the two Olyphants will be Aunjanue Ellis (King Richard), Boyd Holbrook (The Predator), Adelaide Clemens (Under the Banner of Heaven), Vondie Curtis Hall (Daredevil), Marin Ireland (The Umbrella Academy), Victor Williams (Happy Together), and Norbert Leo Butz (The Girl from Plainville).

Justified: City Primeval will see the leading star executive produce and reunite with the creator of the original series Graham Yost as executive producer. Dave Andron and Michael Dinner will executive produce, write, and act as showrunners. Dinner will direct. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and FX Productions.
