“Now & Then”: What We Know So Far

An Apple TV+ Original, Now & Then follows a group of six college friends, played by Marina de Tavira, Maribel Verdú, José Maria Yazpik, Manolo Cardona, Soledad Villamil, and Jorge López, who get caught in a web of mystery and ill intent when a mysterious crime leaves one of their own dead. The remaining five vow to bury their horrible past behind them, but twenty years later, the friends are forcibly reunited after a  “threat puts their seemingly perfect worlds at risk.” The trailer shows the five friends, now adults, reuniting at a college reunion and each receiving an unknown text message. The message sends them all into a spiral of panic and paranoia as they’re forced to face the truth of what happened on that mysterious night, whether they want to or not.

To make matters more complicated, Flora (Rosie Perez), a detective obsessed with solving a 20-year-old mystery, is on the case, along with her partner Sullivan (Željko Ivanek).

“Now & Then is a multi-layered thriller that explores the differences between youthful aspirations and the reality of adulthood, when the lives of a group of college best friends are forever changed after a celebratory weekend ends up with one of them dead. Now, 20 years later, the remaining five are reluctantly reunited by a threat that puts their seemingly perfect worlds at risk,” the official Now & Then synopsis reads.

According to Deadline, the thriller series will be shot in Miami and executive produced by Gideon Raff (Homeland), along with a team from Bambú Producciones. The first three episodes – of a total of eight – will be released on May 20th.
