Starz has renewed its adaptation series, Outlander for Season 8, which will be the series’s last. The Starz adaptation series is based on the novels by Diana Gabaldon. Matthew B. Roberts is the showrunner. It stars Caitríona Balfe as Claire Fraser and Sam Heughan as James “Jamie” Fraser. The announcement of Season 8 of Outlander is its last season comes just before Season 7 has premiered. Diana Gabaldon is currently working on the tenth book of the series which will conclude the book series. The author also serves as an executive producer of the show. Starz is by no means done with the Outlander franchise. The network is working on a prequel series called Blood of My Blood, which will follow the love story of Jamie Fraser’s parents. Roberts is writing and will be an executive producer of the prequel series alongside Maril Davis, Ronald D. Moore, and Gabaldon.

Diana Gabaldon Wrote an Epic Romance Series That Was Successfully Brought to Life

There is no shortage of comic books and adaptations of novels on television. Rarely does an adaptation draw audiences as Outlander has. Of course, the palpable chemistry between Claire and Jamie helps make the series endearing. Just because Season 8 is the last season of Outlander doesn’t mean it’s all over. The prequel series will be yet another Fraser epic romance. Since Diana Gabaldon is involved in the prequel series, means that the series will do justice to her vision. The Starz adaptation series Outlander has consistently kept viewers on the edge of their seats and tugged at their heartstrings. Diana Gabaldon is still writing the last book and already has an idea of how she wants it to end but is still figuring out how to get there.

It’s fair to say that the Starz adaptation series Outlander has been a success before Season 8, its last season.
