The Valorant pro teams have started to square to bring talented players to Riot Games’ new competitive shooter. On June 4, 100 Thieves announced it has recruited Counter-Strike veteran Spencer ‘Hiko’ Martin as the team’s captain, with more team announcements coming in the future. The 30-year old professional player is the only player on the 100 Thieves roster as of the announcement, but Hiko will likely have plenty of input regarding his team members and who he plans to work with in the future....

A Short Hike, a cute adventure game made by one-man developer Adam Robinson-Yu, is being released today on Nintendo Switch as a timed console exclusive. The news comes from today’s Nintendo Indie World Showcase stream. Before landing on Switch the game was first released on Windows PC, macOS, and Linux via Steam and itch.io back on July 30th, 2019. In this retro 3d-styled title, you play as Claire, an adventurous little blackbird on a vacation who has decided to explore the peaceful mountainside landscapes of Hawk Peak Provincial Park out of boredom....

Epic Games announced through a blog post this morning that achievements will debut in select titles on the Epic Games Store sometime next week. Epic did not provide a full list of games that will support achievements, but it did highlight some key titles, including Rocket League, Hades, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, and the upcoming Alan Wake Remastered. Epic also stated players can expect achievements to arrive in more games later this year....

Actress Debra Jo Rupp has been cast in the Disney+ original series Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Deadline reports that Rupp is joining Kathryn Hahn, Joe Locke, Aubrey Plaza, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Sasheer Zamata and Patti LuPone in this spin-off of WandaVision, which Rupp was also a part of. While the details of her role are unknown, it seems likely that she will reprise her role of Sharon Davis, who was one of Wanda Maximoff’s victims in Westview....

The Age of Empires franchise has reportedly sold 5 million copies since February 2009. The news has been revealed by Monsarrat Inc.’s Chief Creative Officer Brian Sullivan on LinkedIn and shared on Twitter by Niko Partners’ analyst Daniel Ahmad. Monsarrat is a company led by Sullivan, the co-creator of Age of Empires, and he discussed the figures himself in an update to his curriculum vitae. Age of Empires “has sold 25 million units and earned $1 billion,” says the former Microsoft creative, updating the latest figure that was shared in February 2009 and claimed that the series had sold 20 million copies....
