When it comes to long-running horror movie franchisees, the Scream movies are among the most iconic. Now, the Scream 6 trailer is out ahead of the movie’s release. In the trailer, we see not only Ghostface haunting New York, but also a mix of fan favorites from the older films and some newer additions. In addition, the trailer shows the younger characters taking a much more active role in bringing down Ghostface, but will they be successful? Scream 6 is also notable because it’s the first time a Scream film has had a New York Setting.
Scream 6 will arrive in theatres on March 10th. Regarding the cast for the new Scream movie, Jenna Ortega, Hayden Panettiere, Melissa Barrera, and Samara Weaving will star. Unless there is a surprise, Courteney Cox is the only actor from the original films who will have a significant role. Neve Campbell appeared in Scream 5, but the studio offered her less money than she expected for this version, so she turned down the role.
The new Scream movie comes from Paramount Pictures. James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick directed the film. Of course, horror movies have succeeded in recent months, so the studio hopes the same will be true for Scream.

The ‘Scream’ Movies Are Iconic
The internet is buzzing about the Scream 6 trailer. However, many don’t feel the newer films live up to the older ones. Scream 5 received mostly positive reviews, but many thought that the original cast perhaps brought the film down. The biggest issue is that Scream 5 seemed far too meta for many long-time fans of the movie. Though an unpopular opinion, perhaps the new Scream movie will be better off with less of the original cast for this reason.
