Apple has season 2 of Severance in the works, and has since added eight new cast members to its ensemble. The new additions include Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development), Bob Balaban (The French Dispatch), Merrit Wever (Godless), Robby Benson (Beauty and the Beast), Stefano Carannante (Mirabilia), John Noble (The Lord of the Rings), Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (The Tourist).

Principal photography has begun for the sci-fi thriller that introspectively looks at work-life balance with a dystopian lens. The new cast of Severance season 2 will join the debut season stars Adam Scott, Patricia Arquette, John Turturro, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Dichen Lachman, Jen Tullock, Tramell Tillman, Michael Chernus, and Christopher Walken.

The series follows a group of tech workers who work in a secretive sector of their employer where their minds are split between their in-work and outside lives. As their work lives crave memories and lives outside the office, tensions grow to an uprise against the corporation that holds them hostage while their outside lives enjoy all that life has to offer.

Severance season 2 substantially grows its cast

Apple TV+ has slowly grown to be a rival to other streaming platforms with hits like Ted Lasso and Severance. It became such a hit with audiences and critics for its unique premise, engaging characters, and compelling story that was thought-provoking, funny, and sweat-inducing intense. It led to accolades with two Emmy wins on top of its 14 nominations. It was created by Dan Erickson, who wrote and executive produced the series. Ben Stiller executive produced the series and directed seven of the ten episodes. The other episodes were directed by Aoife McArdle.

No date has been set for Severance season 2. To hold you over or see what the fuss was about earlier this year, you can check out the debut season on Apple TV+.
