The legal drama elements of the She-Hulk Disney Plus series will live up to its subtitle Attorney at Law as it focuses on the courtroom stories that will be told in its nine episodes. Speaking with Empire magazine, leading star Tatiana Maslany spoke about how the show will lean into this part of it, making it unlike any superhero show since Daredevil. This will lead to a struggle between her character’s new superhero life and her long-standing career as a lawyer.
Fans of the genre have seen how a superhero story mixes with a courtroom from the Daredevil series. This will be different as the protagonist will have to defend and be in opposition to superpowered beings. The She-Hulk legal drama will tackle the masculine culture of the field while having fun with the characters she will meet.
Disney Plus She-Hulk Series is a Legal Drama in a Superhero Story
The series will introduce Jameela Jamil (The Good Place) as Titania, a major enemy of the hero in the comics. The show will also feature Ginger Gonzaga (Ted), Renée Ellis Goldsberry (Hamilton), Josh Segarra (Arrow), and Jon Bass (Baywatch).
It will also see Mark Ruffalo reprise his role as Hulk since he is the cousin of Jennifer Walters (Maslany) and is the reason behind her powers. Tim Roth returns as Abomination from The Incredible Hulk and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Benedict Wong continues his reign over Phase 4 as he returns as Wong. Since we saw him fight in a fight club-like arena in Shang-Chi, it may explain why he made that bizarre appearance in the 2021 film.
Jessica Gao (Rick and Morty) is the creator of Marvel’s first legal drama with She-Hulk. She also is the lead writer and an executive producer on the series. Kat Coiro (The Mick) will direct six episodes with Anu Valia (CollegeHumor Originals) will direct three. Coiro will also serve as executive producer with Victoria Alonso, Jennifer Booth, Louis D’Esposito, Wendy Jacobson, Brad Winderbaum, and Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige.
The Disney Plus legal drama She-Hulk: Attorney at Law hits the streaming platform on August 17th.
