The stacked cast of IF, a film by John Krasinski, just got bigger as SNL star Bobby Moynihan joined the crew, originally reported by Deadline. The ensemble will also include Ryan Reynolds, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Cailey Fleming (The Walking Dead), Louis Gossett Jr. (Watchmen), Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve), Alan S. Kim (Minari), and Steve Carell. The Quiet Place star will direct, write, and produce. It is expected to release on May 24, 2024.

Details about the parts for the cast, like Bobby Moynihan of SNL, are under wraps. John Krasinski came up with the idea of IF as it follows a child rediscovering their imagination. Allyson Seeger, Andrew Form, and Reynolds will produce with the filmmaker. Alexa Ginsburg and George Dewey will serve as executive producers. The film comes from Paramount Pictures, a first-look deal with both Reynolds’ company Maximum Effort and Krasinski’s Sunday Night.

SNL star Bobby Moynihan joins John Krasinski and more for IF

Outside of SNL, Bobby Moynihan has had a huge career on TV. On the side of his voice work, he had performed in Summer Camp Island, DuckTales, Star Wars Resistance, Batman: The Audio Adventures, The Secret Life of Pets 2, and Loafy, which he executive produced, wrote and directed. For live-action, he has starred in Me, Myself and I, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Drunk History, and Mr. Mayor. He most recently voiced an episode of Star Trek: Lower Decks. He will be in Jerry Seinfeld’s Netflix film Unfrosted with James Marsden, Melissa McCarthy, Hugh Grant, and Amy Schumer.

John Krasinski has taken up more chances to step behind the camera. The Office alum made his directorial debut with 2009’s Brief Interviews with Hideous Men. He also did three episodes of The Office before stepping to another film with The Hollars. His directing chops got recognition as he swung in a wildly different direction as he stepped into the underworld of horror with A Quiet Place and its sequel.
