Apple TV struck gold with Ted Lasso, and while season 3 may be the end, star and co-writer Brett Goldstein doesn’t want it to happen. Following his second consecutive Emmy win for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, he said that he wants to keep making the show, even when recognizing that the decision to continue is up to leading star Jason Sudeikis. Between Brett Goldstein and his co-star and writer, it seems Ted Lasso will end after its third season. Besides being adamant that it will be the end, the last season plotted a conflict that could lead to a conclusion. While tackling the protagonist’s anxiety and other stories with each character, the show has plenty of ground to cover during its final episodes.

Brett Goldstein wants to keep Apple TV series Ted Lasso alive

Brett Goldstein is not the only one who wants to keep making Ted Lasso. When talking with The Hollywood Reporter, co-creator Bill Lawrence said similar things by placing the fate of the series in Sudeikis’ hands. He also revealed that when the show started, they plotted out the details for each character, setting them up perfectly to end when they wanted.

With 11 Emmy wins and going viral at the start of the pandemic for its wholesome flavor, Ted Lasso became a huge hit for both Apple and stars like Brett Goldstein, who have exploded from the show’s success. The actor who plays fan-favorite Roy Kent most recently had a cameo in Thor: Love and Thunder, potentially setting him up for a major antagonistic role to duke it out with Chris Hemsworth’s muscular God of Thunder.

Season 3 of Ted Lasso is currently in the works. No date has been set for its possible final lap around the football field. You can currently catch up on the series on Apple TV+.
