The end is coming for everyone’s favorite wholesome soccer comedy. In an interview with People, Ted Lasso star Cristo Fernández teases what’s to come, including character conclusions. He also hints at more soccer (or football for international readers) and the themes the show will tackle on its final run.

On the red carpet of the 20th annual G’Day USA Gala in L.A., Ted Lasso actor Cristo Fernández, who plays Dani Rojas, talked about what we can expect from the characters. He could not say much, but he said that “the characters will have different resolutions, different moments.” As the show has grown everyone in different ways, in some constructive and destructive routes, leads to plenty of options for how it will conclude.

The actor also teased the “messages and the different topics” that the final sprint will cover. The show has already gone into people’s relationships, dating, and social anxiety. It will likely expand on what we have seen while including more themes that we have not seen the show tackle.

Ted Lasso star Cristo Fernández on character conclusions (Season 2 spoilers)

The end of the last season of the Apple TV series was a bomb drop. Nathan Shelley (Nick Mohammad) started off as a quiet assistant, who grew attached to the coach (Jason Sudeikis). The last season saw the tension rise between them, leading to Nathan switching teams to take down his once beloved coach.

Dani Rojas is a cheery, heartfelt character who brings positive vibes to the series. He was brought in on episode six of the first season, Two Aces. While he has had material throughout his time, the final run of the series could do more with him to give him a conclusion, like the other characters who are going to have “different resolutions” that the Cristo Fernández teased about his Ted Lasso character.

No date is slated for season 3. It will hit Apple TV sometime this year. For now, you can watch the first two seasons to catch up and be ready for what will likely be an emotional end to the beloved series.
