Actor Orlando Brown, known for playing Eddie Thomas on the Disney Channel’s That’s So Raven and voicing Sticky Webb in The Proud Family, was arrested Thursday morning in Ohio for domestic violence. TMZ reports that the 35-year-old troubled and homeless actor was staying at his brother Matthew’s house (the two are not blood brothers, but that is how Matthew describes the relationship). Matthew told police that Brown started acting crazy, accusing him of raping his wife and coming at him with a broken-off knife blade and a hammer. Matthew told cops that Brown was never able to make a physical strike, and he eventually set the weapons down. Brown is facing a misdemeanor charge of “domestic violence – cause belief of imminent physical harm by threat of force.”

Orlando Brown’s Ohio Arrest is Latest Trouble For The Actor

Yahoo! Entertainment explains that this is only the latest in a series of legal issues and troubles that Orlando Brown has faced. In 2014, a woman told police that Brown threatened to kill her and her daughter. In 2016, he was arrested during an argument with a girlfriend and was charged with domestic battery and possession of meth. He was arrested three times in three times in 2018: once for an outstanding warrant in Las Vegas, another for felony drug possession, and again for breaking into a friend’s restaurant.

During a bizarre interview with Dr. Phil in 2018, Brown was wearing snake eyes while discussing his addiction to drugs and alcohol. The actor could not remember his children’s names and had at different points claimed that Michael Jackson and Will Smith were his biological fathers. Dr. Phil stated that “neurological disruptions” were clouding Brown’s thinking.

Brown also shocked many when a 2018 mug shot revealed a tattoo of fellow That’s So Raven star Raven-Symone in his chest, which the actress did not appreciate. He has not been welcomed back for the That’s So Raven sequel series Raven’s Home, and Sticky Webb was not written into The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder.

Brown appeared to be making a turnaround in 2020 while testifying at a Christian church service. He had been part of a six-month program for people dealing with drugs and alcohol, depression, homelessness, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and other life-controlling issues. He married his wife, Danielle, later that year.

Despite attempts to change his life, That’s So Raven star Orlando Brown continues to face legal issues, with this arrest in Ohio being his latest trouble. Like many Nickelodeon and Disney Channel stars (e.g., Demi Lovato and Jennette McCurdy), we see with Brown that fame in youth can have an ugly price.
