Netflix has confirmed that its popular animated series based on the classic run and gun shooter Cuphead, known as The Cuphead Show!, will officially be for season 2 this summer. Netflix revealed the latest trailer for The Cuphead Show! Season 2 during the Netflix Geeked Week presentation also included a live table read of a brand new, unreleased episode and confirmed a release date of August 19th, 2022.

The Cuphead Show Season 2 Release Date and Details

The first season of The Cuphead Show! featured the first 12 episodes of the series and initially premiered in February of this year. Netflix ordered another 36 episodes of The Cuphead Show! after the last episode of season one, which will run in blocks of 12 once season 2 is released on August 19th, 2022, with the release of season 2, which will follow up from the events of Cuphead and Mugman’s encounter is the newest character, Ms. Chalice.

Chalice is also a new playable character in the upcoming DLC for the Cuphead game, The Delicious Last Course, which will release on June 30th, 2022. for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC.

A new trailer for The Cuphead Show! Season 2 was shown as part of Netflix Geeked Week. The official description of the show by Netflix reads:

The series is being executive produced by C.J. Kettler, best known for her work on another Netflix animated series, Carmen Sandiego, on behalf of King Features. The two brothers that created the original Cuphead, Chad and Jared Moldenhauer, serve as executive producers from Studio MDHR, and Emmy and Annie award winner Dave Wasson, known for Disney’s Mickey Mouse Shorts, will also executive produce. Cosmo Segurson from Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling will also serve as co-executive producer.
