When it comes to development, Mike Flanagan has written a pilot for the first season, an outline of the first season, and a “broader” outline for the rest of the series.
The novels are a blend of genres with a focus on being a Western with a mix of science-fantasy and horror. It follows Roland hunting down a man in black. It contains seven books that originated in 1982 and concluded in 2012. A short story was also published in 1998.
