During DC FanDome, fans got a first look at the upcoming The Flash movie. The brief teaser came after Ezra Miller appeared to introduce the project. The teaser featured a couple of looks at many of the things that have been confirmed for this film, including the return of Michael Keaton’s Batman. This is Keaton’s first appearance as Bruce Wayne/Batman since Tim Burton’s Batman Returns in 1992.

In the first look for The Flash, we see Miller’s Barry Allen entering Wayne Manor with Keaton’s voice asking him why he would want to stay in this version of the timeline. We then see Barry enter the Batcave, along with the back of Batman’s mask with the design from Burton’s Batman movies. There are also two other versions of the Flash, suggesting that Barry will meet other versions of this character during his journey in the multiverse. Barry asks Batman “Are you in?” before the film logo rolls on in. The teaser ends with Barry pulling the cover off of the Batmobile but it cuts away before it’s revealed.

It is confirmed that Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne will also be appearing in this movie along with the debut of Sasha Calle as Supergirl. The reason for multiple versions of characters is that The Flash is based on the Flashpoint storyline where Barry goes back in time to prevent the death of his mother. This action causes the timeline to ascend into chaos. There is a small hint to this in the teaser as Barry returns to his childhood home and approaches his mother. How large of a role the Batmans will have is unknown but this teaser seemed to suggest that at least Keaton could have a significant part to play.

The Flash movie is directed by Andy Muschietti and is expected to debut in theaters on Nov. 4, 2022.
