Netflix released an official trailer for The Midnight Club, the next horror series by Mike Flanagan. The creator of The Haunting of Hill House continues his journey of delivering scares to give you nightmares and drama to bring you to tears with this adaption of the novel of the same name by Christopher Pike, not to be confused with the filmmaker’s last midnight-centered Netflix show, Midnight Mass.

The trailer for The Midnight Club gives a deeper look at the horrific events to occur in this hospice as these terminally ill teens play with dark forces for their entertainment. The premise is that a group of terminally ill teens gather at midnight to tell scary stories and explore the hospice’s dark secrets. Soon, all the fun and games turn deadly as something awakens, and they must find answers to survive the ghosts that haunt them.

The Midnight Club trailer delivers scares with new Mike Flanagan series

The series adaption of The Midnight Club was created by Mike Flanagan and Leah Fong (Once Upon a Time). The two serve as lead writers and executive producers. Flanagan will direct some episodes, and other directors will step in with Axelle Carolyn (The Haunting of Bly Manor), Michael Fimognari (To All the Boys), Viet Nguyen (iZombie), and Morgan Beggs (Once Upon a Time). Beggs, Adam Fasullo, and Trevor Macy also executive produce.

If you are a fan of any film or series by Mike Flanagan, you know to expect familiar faces. While the trailer for The Midnight Club does not show everyone, you good introduction to most of the cast. It will star Samantha Sloyan (Hush, Hill House, Midnight Mass), Zachary Gilford (Midnight Mass), Rahul Kohli (The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass), Igby Rigney (Midnight Mass), Annarah Cymone (Midnight Mass), Matt Biedel (Midnight Mass), and Robert Longstreet (Hill House, Doctor Sleep, Midnight Mass). For the non-Flanaverse stars, the show will feature Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Aya Furukawa (The Baby-Sitters Club), Yuki Morita (The Terror), and Ruth Codd.
