It has been announced today (August 10) that Emmy-winner Jon Hamm has joined the cast of The Morning Show for season 3. This comes in Charlotte Stoudt (Homeland) takes over as the new showrunner, with the previous showrunner, Kerry Ehrin (Bates Motel), acting as a consultant for the next outing for the Apple TV+ series.

The Morning Show explores the professional and personal goings of the hosts. Jennifer Aniston plays co-host, Alex Levy, with Reese Witherspoon as her co-host Bradley Jackson. Billy Crudup (Spotlight) plays Cory Ellison. CEO of UBA, the TV company that airs this fictional morning show. Jon Hamm will play Paul Marks, a savvy businessman trying to take over the TV network, which forces Cory, Alex, and Bradley to team up to protect the company. He is the first new addition that has been announced.

The Morning Show season 3 adds Jon Hamm to its star-studded cast

Apple TV+ has found great success between the first two seasons of The Morning Show. The series has one Emmy under its belt with 10 nominations. Ehrin co-created the series with Jay Carson (House of Cards). It also stars Mark Duplass (Big Mouth), Nestor Carbonell (Bates Motel), and Karen Pittman (And Just Like That…).

The addition of Jon Hamm to The Morning Show highlights the strength of his career. He won an Emmy for his role in Mad Men, along with 16 nominations. He has also starred in Baby Driver, Top Gun: Maverick, Richard Jewell, Million Dollar Arm, and The Town. Looking ahead, he will star in the next season of Fargo with Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight), Joe Keery (Stranger Things), and more. He will also star in Alpha Gang, Off Season, Grimsburg, Maggie Moore(s), and Confess, Fletch.

No release date has been set for The Morning Show season 3. The first two seasons are available on Apple TV+.
