It seems as if hackers are just not going to stop piling into PSN and Xbox Live. While Xbox Live service is not basically back to normal, PSN is still having issues. Now, as if to add insult to injury, another group of hackers seemingly that claim to be related to Anonymous has released 13,000 username and password combinations as well as credit card information, according to the Daily Dot.
Update: The user data leaked in this “hack” may be information that had already been compromised and published. Whether this was an attention grabbing hoax or a real privacy breach, it’s always wise to update your passwords just in case.
Update 2: It appears as if this was actually a hoax after all.
While the chances of you being affected is quite low, seeing as there are millions of accounts associated with PSN and Xbox Live alone, thus making 13,000 a very small percentage in comparison, if you think you may have been hit by malware/spyware recently, it’s probably not a bad idea to go ahead and change your passwords and monitor your credit card statements.
