AMC’s streaming platform for all things spooky and nightmarish, Shudder, announced V/H/S/99, the title of the next V/H/S entry of the horror anthology film franchise. As reported by Deadline, it will be released soon as it hits the streamer on October 20 in North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. The next installment will include short films from directors Maggie Levin (Into The Dark: My Valentine), Johannes Roberts (Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City), Flying Lotus (Kuso), Tyler MacIntyre (Tragedy Girls), and Joseph and Vanessa Winter (Deadstream).

V/H/S/99 will step closer to the modern world by going toward the end of the analog era. It will follow a teenager watching their home video that unleashed terrifying films.

Shudder announces V/H/S/99, the latest V/H/S installment

The previous entry, V/H/S/94, was the biggest premiere in the streaming platform’s history. Its viewership was record-breaking for Shudder, and it remains a top performer. The highly reviewed film’s segments were directed by Simon Barrett (The Guest), Steven Kostanski (Psycho Goreman), Chloe Okuno (Watcher), Ryan Prows (Lowlife), Jennifer Reeder (Knives and Skin), and Timo Tjahjanto (The Night Comes for Us).

V/H/S/99 will be produced by Josh Goldbloom, Brad Miska, David Bruckner, James Harris, Chad Villella, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, and Tyler Gillett. Executive producing will be Adam Boorstin and Michael Schreiber.

The directors for V/H/S/99 will be busy on top of their segment duties. Levin is currently directing and writing Retrograde, a sci-fi horror film. Roberts gained recognition for his Resident Evil movie and both 47 Meters Down shark attack films. Lotus is more known as a composer in the industry but made his directorial debut in 2017 with Kuso, which he also wrote and composed. MacIntyre found success with Tragedy Girls, which had a strong cast with The Boys star Jack Quaid, Brianna Hildebrand (Deadpool 2), Alexandra Shipp (X-Men: Dark Phoenix), and Kevin Durand (The Strain). Directing duo Joseph and Vanessa Winter kickstarted their career recently with the horror comedy Deadstream.
