The Moonshot star Lana Condor has joined the cast of the Monarch Media thriller Valiant One. Steve Barnett, from Monarch Media, is directing the thriller. This is Barnett’s feature directorial debut. Lana Condor will star opposite Callan Mulvey (The Gray Man, Captain America: Winter Soldier) and Desmin Borges (The Time Traveler’s Wife). It will start production in Vancouver later this month. The film is about a U.S. helicopter that crashes in North Korea. The surviving U.S. Army non-combat tech soldiers have to work together to protect a civilian tech specialist as they try to get out of the demilitarized zone. Condor is playing the Media Specialist named Selby in Valiant One. Borges is playing Josh Weaver, a civilian defense contractor. Mulvey is playing Chris Lebold, a Delta Operative. The original idea came from Barnett; Eric Tipton wrote the script. Bernie Goldmann will produce it along with Barnett and Alan Powell.

“To All the Boys” Launched Lana Condor Into Stardom

The young actor played the lead role in all three of the Netflix adaptations of To All the Boys films. Her adorable portrayal of Lara Jean Covey had audiences hooked. Since her role in those films, Lana Condor has had roles in Deadly Class, Moonshot, and now Valiant One. She has already been in the thriller Patriot Day, so this upcoming Monarch Media role is nothing new to her. The young star has been getting new and exciting roles left and right. She most recently starred in the limited series Boo, Bitch on Netflix. She is one of the rising stars to watch these days. Valiant One is far from the gushy romantic comedies that have helped established the career of Lana Condor. The Monarch Media thriller is part of Condor establishing herself outside of the girl-next-door persona attached to her since To All the Boys.
