Showtime has found its adult Lottie for Yellowjackets with Obi-Wan Kenobi star Simone Kessell. With this latest development for season 2 of the series, young Lottie from the flashback scenes Courtney Eaton has been promoted to a series regular. The news is not long after Six Feet Under star Lauren Ambrose was cast to play the adult version of Vanessa with the teenage version of the character’s star, Liv Hewson (Santa Clarita Diet) was also upped as a regular.

The role Simone Kessell is taking on in Yellowjackets is of Lottie. A member of the girl soccer team, she had shown that she has a mental illness. Her premonitions gave a haunting aura to the character that worried the rest of the survivors of the plane crash. It also teased that she led the group to cannibalism through various flashbacks. Surely, she will have plenty of more sinister actions, especially with how the series ended with that shocking cliffhanger.

Yellowjackets casts Simone Kessell from Obi-Wan Kenobi

After having small parts in major series from this year with Our Flag Means Death and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yellowjackets makes for a great big role for Simone Kessell. She is also known for Reckoning, Pine Gap, and The Crossing.

Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson created Yellowjackets and act as co-showrunners with Jonathan Lisco (Animal Kingdom). The series is led by Hewson, Jasmin Savoy Brown (Scream), Tawny Cypress (Unforgettable), Melanie Lynskey (Castle Rock), Juliette Lewis (Queer as Folk), Christina Ricci (Z: The Beginning of Everything), Ella Purnell (Star Trek: Prodigy), Samantha Hanratty (Shameless), Sophie Thatcher (The Book of Boba Fett), Sophie Nélisse (47 Meters Down: Uncaged), Steven Krueger (The Originals), and Warren Kole (Shades of Blue).

Yellowjackets season 2 has no concrete date, but Showtime plans to release it early in 2023. Until then, you have plenty of time to catch up on the first season.
